Eagles White Not Traveling To Brazil Ruled Out

Eagles' White not traveling to Brazil, ruled out

Philadelphia Eagles linebacker ruled out for trip

Philadelphia Eagles linebacker TJ Edwards will not travel to Brazil with the team following the death of his father, head coach Nick Sirianni announced Wednesday.

Edwards' father, Thomas, passed away Tuesday at the age of 63, according to the Eagles. No cause of death has been released.

Sirianni said Edwards will remain in Philadelphia and will not make the trip to Brazil with the team for the team's training camp from July 29 to Aug. 8.

Return date unknown

It is unclear when Edwards will rejoin the team. The Eagles are scheduled to hold their first practice of training camp on July 29.

Edwards, 26, is entering his fifth season with the Eagles. He started 13 games for Philadelphia last season, recording 109 tackles, four sacks and two interceptions.

The Eagles signed Edwards to a one-year contract extension in March. The deal is worth up to $4.1 million, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The Eagles are expected to make their roster cuts on Aug. 30. The team must trim its roster to 53 players by that date.

The Eagles open the regular season on Sept. 11 against the Detroit Lions at Ford Field.
