The Miami Heat defeated the Boston Celtics 111-103 in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Friday night in Miami. The Heat now lead the series 3-2 and can clinch a berth in the NBA Finals with a win in Game 6 on Sunday in Boston.
Bam Adebayo led the Heat with 21 points and 8 rebounds, while Jimmy Butler added 19 points and 11 assists. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown each scored 10 points for the Celtics.
The Heat led by just 5 points at halftime, but they pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring the Celtics 32-19. The Celtics made a run in the fourth quarter, but they couldn't overcome the Heat's lead.
The Celtics will now need to win Game 6 in Boston on Sunday to stay alive in the series. The Heat will be looking to clinch a berth in the NBA Finals for the second time in three years.
