FC Barcelona Handball, a professional Spanish team based in Barcelona, is one of the most successful handball clubs in the world. Founded in 1942, the team has won numerous championships and is home to some of the top players in the sport.
In the 2023 Champions League group stage, Barça finished second after a loss to the French side. Despite the setback, the team advanced to the quarterfinals.
On December 23, 2023, Barça capped off the Champions League group stage with a 39-30 victory over Celje. Young Oriol Rivera led the scoring for the blaugranes, helping to secure their place in the quarterfinals.
