Arnett Frustrated After 40 17 Defeat

Mississippi State's Defensive Struggles Continue in Loss to Alabama

Arnett Frustrated After 40-17 Defeat

Bulldogs Defense Allows Tide to Roll Unchecked

Mississippi State head coach Zach Arnett was visibly frustrated after his team lost 40-17 against Alabama football in Starkville on Saturday. The Bulldogs' defense, which has been a point of concern for Arnett all season, allowed the Tide to score at will, surrendering 468 yards of total offense and six touchdowns.

"We're not making enough plays," Arnett said after the game. "We're not getting off the field on third down, we're not getting enough pressure on the quarterback, and we're not tackling well. It's all adding up to some very poor performances."

The loss drops Mississippi State to 2-3 on the season and 0-2 in SEC play. The Bulldogs will have a chance to regroup next week when they host Kentucky.
