Brendan Bottcher, the Edmonton skip who guided Team Canada to a bronze medal at the 2021 world men's curling championship, has announced a major shakeup to his rink.

Bottcher revealed Monday that he will be joining forces with three new teammates for the 2021-22 season: Marc Kennedy, Brett Gallant, and Ben Hebert.

The move comes after Bottcher's long-time teammates, Darren Moulding, Brad Thiessen, and Karrick Martin, announced they were stepping away from competitive curling.

Bottcher's new rink is a formidable one, with all four players having represented Canada at the international level.

Kennedy, a four-time world champion and Olympic gold medalist, is one of the most successful curlers in Canadian history.

Gallant, a two-time world junior champion, is known for his aggressive style of play.

And Hebert, a former world mixed doubles champion, is one of the top young curlers in Canada.

Bottcher said he is excited about the potential of his new team.

"I think we have a really good chance to be successful," he said. "We all have a lot of experience, and we're all very motivated to win."

The team will make its debut at the Curling Canada Champions Cup in November.
